Provocations for Democrats and preparation for war with Iran. Axios analyzed Trump's speech in Congress

The publication noted that the speech by the head of the White House was intended to strengthen the position of Republicans in the midterm elections in November, so as not to lose control of Congress amid Trump’s low ratings.

His address can be roughly divided into two parts. The first contained a “positive, if not always accurate” list of Trump's achievements in the areas of the economy, tax cuts and foreign policy, while the second was a “more somber condemnation of the crimes he blamed on Democrats,” the publication said. Its author noted that in order to have a greater influence on the audience, the American president staged a real political show. In particular, he strengthened the speech with the appearance of the men's hockey team, which was met with “bipartisan applause” and chants of “USA, USA!” The women's team, as previously reported by the media, refused Trump's invitation to participate in the event.

Axios wrote that Trump “bragged, manipulated, sneered and bullied his way through the speech” by “cunningly filling the room with people more popular than himself.” The media clarified that in addition to the aforementioned athletes, there were veterans and “everyday American heroes.”

While criticizing the Democrats, the head of the White House said that their policies created high prices, which the current administration opposes, and rejected the Supreme Court's decision to overturn his tariffs. According to the media, hidden behind this were several new populist ideas, including expanded access to retirement accounts and a plan to force technology corporations to build their own power plants to power artificial intelligence data centers.

Trump's speech turned into a political confrontation, with the president openly provoking Democrats, who responded with boycotts and protests. The publication told how Democrat Al Green held up a sign with the inscription Black People Aren't Apes, which translated means “Black people are not monkeys”, thus reacting to a racist video about the family of former US President Barack Obama, which was recently distributed by Trump's account. The article also mentions criticism of gender transitions among minors, recalling which Trump called Democrats “crazy.”

In his speech, he also accused Iran of killing and maiming thousands of Americans with bombs “dropped on roadsides,” of building missiles “that will soon reach the United States” and of reviving “sinister ambitions” for nuclear weapons. The media suggested that by ordering the largest buildup of US military forces in the Middle East since the invasion of Iraq, Trump had actually begun to prepare the American public for a potential war with Iran.
