Pop singer Robbie Williams officially has a 16th No. 1 album in the UK music charts, surpassing the record set by the Beatles in 2000, according to The Guardian and AFP.

His latest album, Britpop, was released on January 16. Robbie Williams said he wanted to write and release it after he left Take That in 1995.

“He's the one! (He's the one! – no)”, captioned the Official Charts Company, the organization that keeps the ranking of album sales, referring to the famous song “She's the One” by the former leader of the band Take That, reports Agerpres.

The new all-time record holder is followed in the ranking by the Beatles (15 number 1 albums), the Rolling Stones (14), Taylor Swift (14) and Elvis Presley (13).

Three of Robbie Williams' 16 chart-topping albums are compilations, and one, 'Better Man', released in 2025, is the soundtrack to the eponymous film inspired by the singer's life, in which he is played by a CGI chimpanzee.

In his 35-year career, Robbie Williams has sold more than 80 million albums worldwide.

“Even the confident 16-year-old from Stoke-on-Trent would never have thought such a thing possible when he joined Take That in 1990. And yet here he is on top of the world, the UK's best-selling artist of all time!” said Martin Talbot, managing director of the Official Charts.
