DSV experts emphasize that the decision to build our own warehouses in Poland is part of a long-term strategy. Piotr Wojtkowski, sales and marketing director, explains: – This gives us greater control over operational standards and allows us to respond faster to customer needs. At the same time, we assume that we will remain an active participant in the commercial real estate rental market.

When asked whether rising energy costs and pressure on ESG are changing DSV's strategy, Agnieszka Kłopotowska, Senior Sustainability Manager at DSV, answers clearly: – DSV presented its CO₂ reduction plans already in 2019, as one of the first companies from the TSL sector. Our actions are not dictated by current events, but by long-term business strategyin which responsibility for the environment, employees and communities is an integral element – he assures.
When assessing the prospects for further development of the warehouse market in Europe, they emphasize that Today, Poland is a storage and fulfillment base for all of Central Europeand that DSV sees further development potential on the Polish market. From the operator's perspective, the availability of land and potential locations in the vicinity of: Warsaw, Łódź, Wrocław, Poznań and the Silesian agglomeration is crucial.
Kłopotowska emphasizes that the company maintains its course achieving climate neutrality by 2050in line with the goals set in the decarbonization maps adopted by the organization. Moreover, market volatility confirms the validity of pro-environmental investments. — Rising energy prices shorten the payback period for projects reducing energy consumption. We intensively analyze and implement solutions in our warehouses, and at the same time we develop services to support customers in achieving their decarbonization goals – from monitoring emissions in supply chains to the offer of biofuels – he enumerates.

DSV experts, when asked about challenges, also point to opportunities. Kłopotowska adds: – The variability of the market situation not only confirms that giving pro-environmental investments a high priority was right, but also makes their economic calculation more and more favorable – she says. High energy prices mean that energy-saving technologies become more profitable and the payback period is shorter.
