The authorities of Krasnoyarsk have announced tenders for the development of design estimates for the improvement of Peace Square. The initial price of the contract exceeds 50 million rubles.
By the 400th anniversary of Krasnoyarsk, the space should become the main square of the regional capital. They want to take as a basis for the transformation of the territory the concept that was developed last year by specialists from the architecture department. The result was presented at the festival “Architecture. Russia.2025”, where he was highly appreciated by experts and awarded the “Silver Sign”.
“The architects propose to rethink the existing space and create a new image of the square, and most importantly, give it a new status. It should become a dynamic transition point, reflecting the transformation of the city from a prison to a metropolis. At the same time, the history of the city must be woven into the “fabric” of the space so that it can be felt and seen,” the mayor’s office said.
Competitors will have to prepare a visualization of the development of the area. They will be considered by a face-to-face commission, which includes the city’s chief architect, specialists from the department of social development and Krasgorpark, and deputies.
Afterwards, the winning bidder will have to prepare design and estimate documentation within 6 months from the date of conclusion of the contract.
Let us note that the Arc de Triomphe will also receive new meanings. Experts propose to completely renovate its appearance – to make it a portal between the square and the historical space of Mira Avenue. The search for a contractor to develop an architectural and construction project for the river has also already started.
