U Cluj won with Union Sloboziascore 1-0, in the 23rd stage of the Superliga. Cristiano Bergodi's team climbed to 6th place, play-off place.
U Cluj reached 36 points and could be overtaken by UTA and Oțelul, if the two win their matches in this stage. Otherwise, the U will end the round in the play-off spot. UTA will play at home with Rapid, Oțelul with Csikszereda, in Galati.
U Cluj quickly scored through Gheorghiță
U Cluj was coming after the failure with Dinamo from Bucharest, 0-1, and needed a success not only from the perspective of the ranking, but also for morale from the beginning of the year, before the final sprint for the play-offs.
Transylvania started strong and opened the scoring in the 5th minute. Andrei Gheorghiță scored the first goal for U in an official match. He had not scored since February 2025, from the time he was at FCSB and registered in the goal of PAOK, in the play-off for the round of 16 of the Europa League.
Gheorghiță scored on Cluj Arena with a shot from the box, from Macalou's pass, who did as he wanted on the right flank. Atacans Trică also contributed, jumping over the ball before it reached Gheorghiță's shot. With 1-0 on the table and 3 virtual points in the pocket, the team of the Italian Cristiano Bergodi did not risk anything and did not attack for the 2nd goal.
Although leading, the visitors counted little to nothing in attack. The Cluj defense stayed well in the field and was hardly opened up. Thus, the first chance of Prepelita's students came only after an hour of play. In the 61st minute, Albu sent Slobozia's first shot on goal. Gertmonas caught the midfielder's header without emotion.

Slobozia did not have the strength to score
Cluj University responded through Drammeh. The central midfielder shot well from the edge of the box, but the ball was deflected into the corner by the defenders of Unirii Slobozia.
U Cluj lived dangerously at the end. The defense showed weaknesses when the Ialomists intensified their attacks. Transylvania escaped and were close to 2-0, through Macalou. The extreme right shot with his left from a distance, from an angle, to the long corner, but the Russian goalkeeper managed to repel.
At the other gate, Chipciu blocked Dragu at the last moment, who was preparing to shoot from close range. It ended 1-0, and U is in 6th place, while Slobozia is in 12th position.
