Since the beginning of 2026, scammers have defrauded residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory out of 42,076,706 rubles. The regional prosecutor's office reported this.
In the period from January 1 to January 22, 166 people became victims of Internet criminals:
- in 15 cases, citizens, having seen advertisements on the Internet about additional income, trading on the stock exchange, investment offers, entered into correspondence with scammers who stole their “deposits”;
- in another 37 cases there were calls from false service employees reporting that money in accounts was at risk. For safety, they offered to transfer them to “safe accounts.”
- 35 people on the Internet followed phishing links on websites for online purchases
- in 4 cases, victims received fake links and messages on social networks and instant messengers from the accounts of acquaintances asking for a loan of money;
- in 75 cases, victims were deceived by strangers on the Internet.
In each case, criminal cases have been initiated and investigated. The clearance rate for these crimes is 5.5%.
5 criminal cases of ITT theft were sent to the regional courts.
