A criminal case has been opened in Krasnoyarsk regarding the possible abduction of a minor, reports the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the region.

A 14-year-old boy disappeared on the evening of January 22. According to investigators, he left his home in the Serebryany Bor cottage village in an unknown direction with an unidentified person.

Late in the evening of the same day, the teenager’s father received a message in a messenger about the kidnapping of his son with a ransom demand of 30 million rubles for his return, as well as a video message from the boy himself about the need to fulfill the ultimatum.

“The student’s father returned home and did not find his son, and 3 million rubles were missing from the safes. Later, the man received a video asking the boy to fulfill the demands of the attackers – in the correspondence they asked for a ransom of 10 times the stolen amount,” the prosecutor’s office said.

Investigators opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime provided for in paragraphs. “a”, “e”, “h” part 2 art. 126 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (kidnapping of a minor committed by a group of persons for mercenary motives), operational search activities are currently being carried out. The version that the teenager is acting under the influence of scammers is also being verified.

Law enforcement officials published the father’s correspondence with the extortionists, and volunteers extended the information about the missing boy.
