The journalist's state of health required an emergency presentation to the hospital. Arriving there, however, Cristoiu found that the unit was overcrowded and could not be taken over immediately, which is why he requested the transfer to a private clinic in the capital, in order to receive care as soon as possible, according to Romania TV.

Sources close to the situation stated that the accident is serious and will require a recovery period to avoid complications. The doctors recommended rest and immobilization of the shoulder with a bandage, following which the evolution of the injury would be monitored. The general condition of the journalist is stable.

On the very day of the incident, Ion Cristoiu published an editorial on his YouTube channel, CristoiuTv, in which he analyzed the public expression style of some political leaders.

In his comment, he compared the way of speaking of Donald Trump with that of President Nicușor Dan, stating that the latter would “the minute and the blunder, the chance and the blunder, the statement and the blunder.”

The publicist likened Nicușor Dan to the character Mr. Goe from Caragiale's sketches and described him ironically as “a candy” from the perspective of public behavior, claiming that he did not expect anyone to “pass” on Elena Lasconi regarding political blunders.
