Yenisei River Shipping Company will celebrate its 95th anniversary with events for residents of the region

The leading carrier of cargo along the Yenisei in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Yenisei River Shipping Company (ERP), is turning 95 years old. The company was founded on February 5, 1931. Now it is a strategically important element of the economy of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and a significant part of Nornickel’s logistics complex.

The history of the ERP dates back to the formation of a separate enterprise on the basis of the West Siberian Shipping Company, responsible for the transportation of goods on the Yenisei. It has gone from a small flotilla that transported 134.8 thousand tons of cargo during the first navigation to a transport giant inextricably linked with the life and development of the region.

“Yenisei River Shipping Company is a legendary enterprise with a proud history and great prospects. We don’t just transport all types of cargo, which is about 3 million tons per year, we are responsible for northern delivery to the remote northern regions of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. ERP has the most powerful fleet on the Yenisei, its own ship repair units, and river ports. We solve the tasks assigned to us, remain a reliable partner of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and confidently move forward. The ERP team is 2.5 thousand river workers who love their craft and are endlessly devoted professionals who, with shining eyes, work for the benefit of the Russian North,” emphasized Andrey Viskunov, General Director of Norilsk Nickel – Yenisei River Shipping Company.

In 2026, the company will continue to participate in large-scale investment projects in the Arctic, provide northern delivery and delivery of goods for the implementation of Norilsk Nickel’s programs to update production and social infrastructure in Norilsk, as well as for all its clients and partners.

In the anniversary year, the company invited residents of the region to touch the history of the shipping company. Thus, on January 21, the Academy Gallery (195 Krasnoyarsky Rabochiy Avenue) will open an exhibition of paintings by Elena Ilyankova, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. In July, Krasnoyarsk residents will enjoy a special and bright Riverman's Day, which will traditionally take place on the Central Embankment. Over the course of the year, in Krasnoyarsk, on the embankments of the right and left banks, a series of photo exhibitions will unfold, open days and excursions will be held for everyone. The anniversary events will cover not only the capital of the region, but also Podtesovo, where the repair and operational base of the ERP fleet is located.
