The parish priest from Małopolska complains about the bills. This is how much the church will pay for electricity


It's about the parish of St. Catherine of Alexandria in Spytkowice. The priest informed parishioners on social media about the amount of the last electricity bill. The amount turned out to be very high.

The church has no money to pay its bills. The support of the faithful is crucial
The parish priest emphasized that with current electricity and heating prices, maintaining the church is becoming more and more difficult. Therefore, the help of the faithful is of great importance. A collection for heating the temple was recently held in Spytkowice.
— 150 envelopes worth PLN 12,050 were collected for heating the church. Without envelopes it was PLN 5,013. This gave a total amount of PLN 17,063. God bless you. The last electricity bill was PLN 9,027, payable by January 12, 2026. – the parish said in a post on Facebook.

Rising cost of living
The example from Małopolska shows that parishes increasingly have to count every expense. Although they have various sources of financing – such as offerings, mass intentions or donations – sudden increases in energy prices put a heavy burden on the budgets of local communities.
High electricity and heating bills are one of the biggest challenges for many parishes today, especially in the winter season. For some of them, the only real way to survive is the solidarity of the faithful.
