Karol Nawrocki talked to the president of the World Bank. He heard about Poland's “great success”.


As Marcin Przydacz, Minister in the Chancellery of the President, said after the talks, the meeting with the head of the World Bank focused on economic issues and possible cooperation between Poland and this institution, also in the context of Warsaw's activity within the G20 group.

According to the presidential minister Ajay Banga also emphasized Poland's effectiveness in fighting corruption and pointed to potential areas of further cooperation. These included: projects implemented under the Three Seas Initiative, as well as the possibility of using financial instruments of the World Bank to expand railway and port infrastructure in Poland.

The World Bank, established in 1944 at the Bretton Woods conference, today brings together 189 countries. Its main goal is to reduce poverty in the world by financing development projects.

As the Chancellery of the President announced earlier, on Tuesday evening Karol Nawrocki will take part in the reception on the occasion of the World Economic Forum hosted by Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed Al-Thani and HE Mohammed Saif Al-Sowaidi from the Qatar Investment Authority. The President of the Republic of Poland will also be present at a lunch hosted by the President of the World Economic Forum, Børge Brende, and the Co-Chairs of the Board of Trustees, Laurence Fink and André Hoffmann.
On Wednesday, President Karol Nawrocki, together with NATO Secretary General Marek Rutte, President of Finland Alexander Stubb and experts will participate in the “Can Europe Defend Itself” panel discussion.
The President of the Republic of Poland is also scheduled to participate in the informal meeting of world economy leaders (IGWEL): “Restoring a Spirit of Dialogue in a Divided World” and a special session of the President of the United States, Donald Trump.
