A particularly serious road accident took place on Monday, in Smeeni commune in Buzău county. A truck left the road and entered a woman's yard and home, causing extensive damage.
A truck driver, under the influence of alcohol, drove the truck directly into the house of an old woman from Smeeni commune, Buzau county, according to the Stiri Din Surse Buzau Facebook page.
The moment of the impact was captured by a surveillance camera in the area.
According to the images shared on the same page, the truck skidded in a curve on the road that crosses the town, and in a few seconds it hit the house head-on, destroying the fence and part of the construction.
Fortunately, no one was in the house at the time of the accident, according to ProTV News.
The driver had a blood alcohol level of 1.12 mg/l
A witness immediately alerted the authorities, and the police crews arriving at the scene found that the driver, a 50-year-old man, was drunk.
The breathalyzer showed an alcohol blood level of 1.12 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air. The driver was left without a license and is under criminal investigation for destruction and driving under the influence of alcohol.
