A man was found charred in the basement of a block of flats in Focșani, after a fire

An approximately 30-year-old man was found charred, Monday evening, following a fire that broke out in the basement of a block of flats in the municipality of Focşani.

“This evening, the firefighters from the Focşani Detachment intervened to extinguish a fire that broke out in the basement of a block of flats in the municipality of Focşani. (…) Unfortunately, following the fire, a male person, aged approximately 30 years, was identified, charred“, stated ISU Vrancea, according to Agerpres.
The victim would most likely be a homeless person, and the fire would have started after the man had fallen asleep while smoking, the fire breaking out from embers or sparks, the representatives of ISU Vrancea said for the quoted source.
At the scene of the fire, five fire crews were mobilized, with three water and foam extinguishing vehicles, an extrication vehicle and a SMURD ambulance.
The police are investigating to establish the identity of the deceased person.
We remind you that, on Saturday, an 80-year-old man suffered second and third degree burns on 80% of his body surface following a fire that broke out at his home in Roşieşti, Vaslui county.
A 43-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man, brothers, died of charring, on the night of Thursday to Friday, after their house in the town of Gura Văii, Bacău county, caught fire.
