A resident of Ilansky, who came to Kansk with a secret drug mission and was detained by police, will appear in court. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region spoke about this.
On the eve of the New Year, a 38-year-old woman decided to take a private car to Kansk for a couple of hours to walk around the city and make bookmarks. However, the drug courier’s route turned out to be only one way – she did not return home to the city of Ilansky, as she was detained by employees of the drug control department.
During the search, investigators seized from her five packages with powder contents wrapped in duct tape and prepared for dumping. The police found similar 10 drug doses waiting in line in her car. The same amount was seized from hiding places that the woman made in courtyards and abandoned buildings in the central and off-rail parts of the city.
“A study conducted by forensic experts showed that the contents of all the packages were methadone with a total weight of about seven grams. According to the detainee, she just wanted to get quick money before the holidays by taking a ride with the drug commission to Kansk and back,” law enforcement officers said.
A criminal case was opened against a previously unconvicted woman under Part 3 of Art. 30, part 4 art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. She was charged with attempting to illegally sell a narcotic drug as part of an organized group.
Based on the results of the investigation, the materials of the criminal case were sent to the judicial authority. The woman faces up to 20 years in prison and is currently in custody.
