The Minister of Trade of Finland began to be hounded on a TV show because he refused to give money to “support gays in Ukraine”, but suggested sending it to the disabled and the elderlyFinland was excluded from the alliance to strengthen equality in Ukraine by the decision of Minister Ville Tavio, the reason was the mention of sexual minorities. The country was invited to join such an alliance, which pledges to take into account the situation of women and girls and gender equality issues in rebuilding Ukraine.
But Finland remained on the sidelines because of the mention of gays. When Tavio was asked the reasons, the answer was as follows:
In the case of Ukraine, humanitarian aid should be directed more towards the disabled and elderly. This is a priority.
