The head of the European Council, Antonio Costa, commented on the matter during a press conference in Asuncion, Paraguay after the EU signed a trade agreement with Mercosur. “If Russia attacks Ukraine, we must defend the territorial integrity, sovereignty and international law in Ukraine. Among the countries to be subject to higher tariffs, he mentioned: Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland and Great Britain — for their attitude towards his claims to Greenland. These countries have sent small groups of soldiers to Greenland to take part in the Danish-led Arctic Endurance exercises.
The tariffs announced by Donald Trump are to increase to 25% in June. and remain in force until the US concludes an agreement to purchase the island, which is an autonomous territory of Denmark.
