Protest at the Iranian embassy in London. Four police officers injured and 14 people arrested

Four police officers were injured and 14 people were arrested during a protest organized in front of the Iranian embassy in London, the Metropolitan Police announced on Saturday, according to dpa.

The arrests took place on Friday for committing crimes such as disturbing public order and trespassing on a property, said the law enforcement forces, who specified that four officers suffered minor injuries, reports dpa, quoted by Agerpres.

In images shared on social networks, protesters can be seen being arrested, and some appear to be injured.

One of those arrested would have climbed the building in Kensington and removed an Iranian flag.

“During a protest at the Iranian embassy on Friday, January 16, a protester trespassed on private property and climbed several balconies on the embassy terrace and removed the Iranian flag. A further 13 arrests were made for various offences, including disorderly conduct, assault on an emergency services employee, bodily harm and trespassing on diplomatic premises.“, said a police spokesperson.

Earlier, the Metropolitan Police stated that reinforcements were sent to the scene and that a dispersal order was issued.
