“Today's meeting of the National Council implemented 7 out of 11 items on the agenda, including the election of a member of the National Electoral Commission and a member of the National Audit Commission. It was also decided that the National Council would consider protests regarding the election of the Party Chairman. After 11 p.m., a break in the meeting was announced until Monday, until 6 p.m.,” wrote Marcin Skonieczka, MP of Poland 2050, on the X platform. This means that it is still unknown what will be the continuation of the invalidated elections for the party chairman. We can expect further signals in this matter on Monday.
Who will run the Gaza Strip?
Marco Rubio, Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, Tony Blair. They, among others, will become members of the Peace Council led by Donald Trump, which will temporarily manage the Gaza Strip. The establishment of the body is provided for in the peace plan accepted by both Israel and Hamas.
Syria recognizes the Kurds
Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara declared the Kurdish language the national language, allowing it to be taught in public schools in areas inhabited by large numbers of Kurds. The president also declared Nowruz, the Kurdish New Year that falls at the beginning of astronomical spring on March 21, as an official public holiday. Originating from pre-Islamic tradition, Nowruz is a symbol of resistance and ethnic identity for the Kurds, especially in the context of attempts to eradicate their culture in Turkey, Iraq and Syria.

Today in Szczecin a new ferry “Jantar Unity” will be presented, which will soon start regular services on the Świnoujście – Trelleborg line. The ferry was built by the Gdańska Stocznia Remontowa – Remontowa Holding. “Jantar Unity” is the first ferry built for a Polish shipowner (Unity Line) in over 30 years.
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, will take part in the signing ceremony of the trade agreement between the European Union and the Mercosur bloc of countries: Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay in Paraguay. The EU-Mercosur agreement will introduce tariff preferences for certain agricultural products, including sensitive products: beef, poultry, dairy products, sugar and ethanol. In return, the markets of these countries will open to industrial goods from the EU, such as cars, machinery and medicines.
Last week, European Union countries agreed to a trade agreement with Mercosur countries. Poland, France, Ireland, Hungary and Austria voted against; Belgium abstained from voting.
Another round of US-Ukrainian peace negotiations is planned for Saturday. As Ukraine's ambassador to the US, Olha Stefanishyna, said on Friday, the main goal of these talks will be to refine the details of two key documents – agreements on guaranteeing the security and economic prosperity of Ukraine, which may be signed during the World Economic Forum in Davos. The Ukrainian delegation included: chief negotiator, secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, head of the president's office and former head of military intelligence (HUR) General Kyrylo Budanov, and head of the parliamentary faction of the Servant of the People party Davyd Arakhamiya.
