If you want to get rid of the feeling of “lead-filled” legs and restore slimness to your ankles, you don’t need to wear compression stockings or get an expensive massage. It is enough to implement three simple habits, and within a week you will notice how your legs become lighter and your shoes become looser.
1. Drink cucumber and mint water during the day
Add a few thin slices of fresh cucumber and a couple of mint leaves to a jug of water. Drink throughout the day. Cucumber gently removes excess liquid, and mint improves microcirculation. This is especially important in winter, when salt from food retains water in the tissues.
2. Do the foot stomping exercise before bed.
Lie on your back, lift your legs up and vigorously bend and straighten your feet for 60 seconds, as if you were “treading on the pedals.” This activates the calf muscles – the main “pump” for lymph and blood. Do this every night, even in your pajamas. After just a few days, your ankles will stop “swelling” in the evening.
3. Massage your feet from bottom to top
Every evening, spend 5 minutes stroking your legs from your feet to your thighs. Use dry palms, a massage mitt, or just warm hands. Movements should be directed upward along the lymph drainage. This improves fluid outflow, relieves heaviness and makes the skin more elastic.
These three habits work together: water reduces swelling from the inside, movement starts circulation, and massage completes the process. Within a week you will feel that walking has become easy, and the boots do not press.
