Rostelecom provided cellular communications to 58 remote settlements in the Krasnoyarsk Territory

January 16 11:29

In 2025, Rostelecom built base stations in 58 small remote settlements in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Thanks to this, voice communication and mobile Internet services became available to residents. The work was carried out as part of the second stage of the federal project for eliminating the digital divide (UCN 2.0).

In northern settlements such as Chirinda, Khantayskoye Lake, Sulomai, Dikson, Vangash, Polygus, Vorontsovo and Zhdanikha, base stations are connected via satellite. This technical solution has proven its effectiveness: it is resistant to extreme weather conditions.

To provide communications to other territories of the region, optical communication channels and base stations of the Russian equipment manufacturer BULAT were used.

“BULAT base stations meet international standards. Their coverage radius is about 20 km, data transfer speeds reach 450 Mbit/s. These parameters ensure a stable connection and data exchange,” said Alexey Usatov, director of the Krasnoyarsk branch of Rostelecom.

“The development of digital infrastructure is one of the key priorities of the ministry as part of the implementation of the national project “Data Economy,” said Nikolai Raspopin, Minister of Digital Development of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. — The provision of communication services to small settlements is carried out according to the regional program and the federal project UCN 2.0. Thanks to the commissioning of new base stations, residents have the opportunity to freely communicate, use online services, and connect to modern digital technologies. Work on both programs will continue into 2026 to further reduce the digital divide in the region.”

The list of settlements where base stations according to UCN 2.0 are installed is determined by the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia on the basis of an open vote, which is also held on the State Services portal. You can view the full list of settlements connected under the project on the Rostelecom website.
