Rospotrebnadzor specialists helped a resident of Krasnoyarsk in legal defense of violated consumer rights in a store digital and household appliances “M.Video”.

The woman said that in January 2024 she was given a card to the store for 5,000 rubles, and when in 2025 she decided to use it, there was nothing suitable among the entire assortment. She asked for a refund for the unused gift card, but the store ignored her legal demands.
Rospotrebnadzor specialists gave an opinion to protect the rights of the consumer and the court recovered in her favor with MVM LLC 9,000 rubles: 5,000 rubles – the cost of a gift card, 1,000 rubles of compensation for moral damage and 3,000 rubles of a fine. The decision came into force.
“Refusal to return funds is perhaps the most common violation of the rights of consumers – owners of gift certificates. If you are faced with a similar problem, use the sample claim developed by our specialists,” Rospotrebnadzor urged.
