In a post on Facebook, Viktor Orban pointed out that “$800 billion doesn't grow on trees” and warned that, according to Brussels' expectations, Budapest should adopt tough measures to be able to secure this financing.

Among them, the Hungarian prime minister listed the elimination of pensions for the 13th and 14th months, the renunciation of subsidies for home owners, the elimination of utility price caps, the modification of the flat-rate income tax and the reduction of tax benefits granted to mothers, families and young people.

Viktor Orban specified that these requests can be found in documents such as the recommendations in the framework “European Semester” and infringement procedures, referring to a report published on Wednesday on the Hungarian government's website, which summarizes the “requirements of Brussels”, according to the origo.hu agency.

“This is the subject on which a decision will be made on April 12. One thing is certain: we will say no to Brussels' war plans.” the Prime Minister of Hungary also sent.

Recently, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán unleashed a series of measures with major budgetary impact ahead of the parliamentary elections, announcing wage increases, extended tax breaks and the introduction of the 14th pension. Everything is happening in the state that has officially become the poorest in the European Union. The government in Budapest announced, in one day, the 11% increase in teachers' salaries, as well as the full exemption from paying income tax for all mothers under the age of 30.
