White and fluffy again: I use 1 life hack – it saves even the most neglected towels

Everyone wants their towels to remain soft, white and absorbent, but over time they become stiff, gray or slightly pinkish, stop absorbing water and can smell musty. Even with regular washing they look “tired”.

In fact, the problem is not in the fabric, but in the plaque: remnants of shower gel, shampoo, powder and salt from hard water settle in the pile. Over time, this residue turns into a film that makes towels stiff, dull, and less absorbent.

Experienced housewives have long abandoned air conditioners and bleaches. Instead, they use a simple mixture of baking soda and vinegar, which dissolves stains, removes odors, and restores softness to towels without chemicals.

How to use:

  • Load towels into the washing machine.
  • Sprinkle 1/2 cup baking soda directly onto the cloth.
  • Run the wash at 40-60°C without powder and gel.
  • At the end of the cycle, pour 1 cup of white vinegar (9%) into the rinse aid tray.
  • Run a short rinse.
  • Take out the towels and dry them completely, preferably in the fresh air.

Baking soda loosens greasy deposits from cosmetics, and vinegar washes away detergent residues and softens water. Together they “revitalize” the pile so that your towels are once again fluffy, white and truly absorbent.

For prevention, wash towels every 3-4 days, do not use conditioner, and always dry them completely, as moisture causes mold and odor.
