The night from Monday to Tuesday will be the coldest night this season, with lows that will generally be between minus 20 and minus 10 degrees.

On the Omu Peak, during the night from Sunday to Monday minus 22 degrees Celsius were recorded, and the minimum temperatures recorded were, in general, around minus 15 degrees, with a value of minus 10 degrees Celsius in the Capital, says the director of the National Meteorological Administration (ANM), Elena Mateescu, News writes.
“On the night from Sunday to Monday, minus 22 degrees were recorded at Vârful Omul. In general, the minimums were, on average, at the national level, around minus 15 degrees. In Bucharest, at the Băneasa station, minus 10 degrees were recorded. The coldest night of this season so far will be the night from Monday to Tuesday, with the probability that the minimums will be between minus 20 and minus 10 degrees. And minus 14 – minus 15 degrees will be recorded in Bucharest, especially in the pre-city area”said Elena Mateescu at Digi 24.
According to the cited source, precipitation will be reported especially in the mountainous area, in the north and center of the country, where a new layer of three to seven centimeters of snow will fall. The wind will blow at 70-80 km/h blowing the snow, Mateescu added.
The director of ANM announced that from Thursday, the temperatures will be slightly increasing, with positive maximums of up to 7-8 degrees Celsius and with minimums that will be between minus 7 degrees and plus 2 degrees.
“We must not exclude that after this particularly cold weather episode, very frosty days and nights are still possible”, Elena Mateescu also said.
