In the newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” (12+) for January 12, 1937, there was a note “Exhibition of paintings by the artist I. Zisman.” A short article informs city residents about the opening of a personal exhibition (12+) by Birobidzhan artist Joseph Zisman. The exhibition opened in the foyer of the State Theater; it presents the artist’s works from 1936. Landscapes, portraits of notable people of the region and compositions for future paintings are exhibited.

Also in this issue of the newspaper the article “Artists take patronage over the resettlement point” was published. She tells the readers of the newspaper that the day before a meeting of women was held at the State Theater – artists of the theater and the Radio Committee, wives of theater workers. At this meeting, the women decided to take patronage of the resettlement center.

This patronage will be expressed not only in organizing concerts at the point. In addition, the women decided to introduce regular duty at the point. They will take part in the reception of new settlers and monitor their future fate.

January 12, 1939

In the issue of the newspaper for January 12, 1939, in the permanent column “Across our region,” order No. 2 of the head of the local air defense of Birobidzhan was published.

This order states that “on January 15, 1939, with the onset of darkness and up to 24 hours, conduct a training exercise to blackout the entire city and its environs. Heads of facilities, heads of institutions, enterprises, organizations, all citizens of Birobidzhan and its environs take all necessary measures to completely darken their facilities, houses, apartments…”

In a small note “100 operations in 2 months,” the following fact is given: “Over the last 2 months of last year, surgeons at the Birobidzhan hospital performed more than 100 operations. All operations were successful. The hospital department located at the 11th kilometer was transferred to the city, to a newly renovated building.”

January 12, 1968

In accordance with decision No. 2/1 of the Smidovichi district executive committee, the settlement on the territory of which the Partizanskaya poultry farm is located was given the name Partizanskoye village.

January 12, 1972

A meeting of the active members of the regional and Birobidzhan city party organizations discussed the results of the November (1971) Plenum of the CPSU Central Committee and the tasks of the regional party organization.

The meeting decided to direct all organizational and political work towards the successful implementation by the working people of the region of the decisions of the XXIV Party Congress, the November (1971) Plenum of the CPSU Central Committee, following the example of Muscovites and Leningraders, to develop socialist competition for a worthy celebration of the 50th anniversary of the formation of the USSR, the early implementation of the plan and socialist obligations of 1972 and the tasks of the ninth five-year plan.

January 12, 1983

The newspaper “Birobidzhanskaya Zvezda” reported that the bureau of the regional committee of the CPSU considered the issue “On the effectiveness of the speeches of the newspaper “Birobidzhanskaya Zvezda” in the light of the requirements of the XXVI Congress of the CPSU.”

The adopted resolution noted that the editors of the newspaper “Birobidzhanskaya Zvezda” increased the ideological and theoretical level and effectiveness of publications, and the organizational role of the newspaper.

At the same time, the editorial team does not use all the opportunities to increase the effectiveness of newspaper speeches.

The Bureau of the Regional Party Committee obliged the newspaper's editorial board and the party bureau to take additional measures aimed at further increasing the authority of the newspaper, the practical impact of newspaper publications, and their effectiveness in the light of the requirements of the 26th Congress of the CPSU.

By Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of January 12, 1993, the title of Honored Teacher of the Russian Federation was awarded to the following teachers:

Keino Lyudmila Evgenievna – teacher of Nikolaev secondary school No. 7,

Koisman Lyubov Tikhonovna – teacher of Russian language and literature at Waldgeim Secondary School,

Kovalenko Serafima Fedorovna – director of the school-lyceum in Birobidzhan,

Kucheryava Nina Abramovna – teacher of the Lenin Secondary School,

Kiss Polina Borisovna – chemistry teacher of secondary school No. 1 in Birobidzhan,

Simonova Tamara Petrovna – director of the Waldgeim secondary school,

Chikishev Valentin Dmitrievich – director of Nikolaev secondary school No. 2.
