The III All-Russian Forum of the Women's Movement of United Russia was held in Moscow at the site of the National Center “Russia”. It discussed supporting women's leadership in all spheres of life, developing their professional potential, involvement in high-tech industries and science, active participation in lawmaking and entrepreneurship.
More than 700 representatives of the Women's Movement, which already has more than 200 thousand supporters throughout the country, gathered at the forum. In Moscow, 89 regions of the country were represented by chairmen of regional public councils, coordinators and activists of the party project, politicians, deputies, representatives of public associations and experts.
Chairman of the United Russia party Dmitry Medvedev, speaking to the audience, said that women come to politics because of a heightened sense of justice, which causes them a surge of activity that creates exceptionally valuable statesmen.
“Women represent a confident majority in United Russia. The role of women in our party is enormous. Most of our party members are women. If we talk about the party cross-section, then almost two thirds of the primary branches, and this is the most difficult, as they say, field, earthly work, are headed by women, as are half of the municipal deputies, where the work is also, to put it mildly, very difficult. I want to sincerely thank you for everything you do for the country and for our party,” he said.
The party movement organizes women's clubs, of which there are already more than 2 thousand throughout the country. Participants discuss important topics: health, motherhood, childhood, women's entrepreneurship and more.
Dmitry Medvedev also instructed the Women's Movement of United Russia to take part in the formation of a new People's Program. It must take into account all proposals that come from women, mothers, and wives.
“We need an unconditional victory [на выборах — прим.]and I'm sure we will get it. But in order to achieve it, we need to prepare a new version of the people’s program, take into account the proposals that come from everyone, and, of course, from women, from mothers, from wives, from a huge female activist within the framework of the new edition of the people’s program. I really hope that all of you, everyone present in this room, will be most attentive to this. The forum is a good opportunity to share your developments, practices, just chat, talk about problems, what is important today. We understand that the main thing for all of us, for women, for all families, is Victory,” concluded Dmitry Medvedev.
Secretary of the United Russia General Council Vladimir Yakushev also spoke about the role of women in United Russia, speaking at the Third All-Russian Forum of the party project “Women’s Movement of United Russia”.
“On the platform of women's clubs, we must collect all the necessary initiatives and conduct focus groups. We need feedback so that the document with which we will then go to the elections meets people’s needs, is clear, specific and written in ordinary human language,” he explained.
During the event, Dmitry Medvedev presented gratitude from the party chairman to the activists of the federal party project “Women’s Movement of United Russia”.
Active participants in the Women's Movement themselves note that support for SVO participants occupies a special place in their work.
“Victory is near. We have a lot of work ahead of us. We need to pay attention to returning soldiers and their families. Even those who, due to their combative nature, do not dare to ask for help. We need to make sure that society understands that this is the norm for us, this is help,” said Hero of Russia, finalist of the Leaders of Russia project Lyudmila Bolilaya at the plenary session.
Also at the site of the All-Russian Forum there was an exhibition “Made by Women”. It presents clothing, accessories, crafts and much more created by project activists from all over the country.
