False legal advice. Lawyer's identity theft

There are websites that tempt potential clients with quick legal advice, suggesting that it will be provided by specific attorneys – but they have nothing to do with it and want to hold the website owners responsible – informs in the Monday edition of “Dziennik Gazeta Prawna”.

The daily reported that the Supreme Bar Council has issued an appeal asking for information about people who paid Lexspace and Advocatura.info for “legal assistance of questionable quality.” This is another step in a battle that the bar has been fighting for some time.

“In the spring of this year, the NRA presidium notified the prosecutor's office about the suspicion of committing a crime, the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection – about the violation of consumers' collective interests, and the Personal Data Protection Office – about the violation of the principles of personal data processing. In that case, it was about Lexspace websiteadvertising itself as “a modern legal platform whose mission is to increase the availability of legal services,” writes “DGP”.

The daily recalled that the Bar raised the alarm that a website resembling public registers contains names, surnames and other data about members of the bar association – although they do not cooperate with Lexspace in any way.

“Now the NRA is looking for people who were tempted by this type of portals,” the newspaper reported. (PAP)
