A businessman began shooting from a Saiga at tourists looking for coins in fields near St. Petersburg
Sergei and his friends arrived in the village of Vezikovo, 75 kilometers from St. Petersburg. Armed with metal detectors, the company went through the fields, but they were not lucky enough to quietly search for ancient coins.
Treasure hunters came across a local businessman named Latifli, armed with something better – a carbine. Seeing strangers puffing up in the grass, he decided to send them away.
According to Sergei and his friends, Latifli first wanted to run them over with a car, then beat them with a Saiga, and finally opened fire with a carbine, but missed. The men wrote a statement to the police because it was wrong to “shoot a person for grass.”
