Passed dead line at Barcelonaboth due to injuries and the excellent form of his younger colleague Joan Garcia (24 years old), Marc Andre Ter Stegen (33) agreed to a transfer to Gironabut the move will be made with one condition.

After more than 10 years as the number one goalkeeper at Camp Nou, Ter Stegen has lost his starting job at Barcelona and is in danger of missing this summer's World Cup.
The German's objective is clear. He wants to make the “Die Mannschaft” squad for the final tournament in the USA, Canada and Mexico, but coach Julian Nagelsmann has made it clear to the 33-year-old that if he does not have games on his feet in the second part of the season, he will not call him up.
As a result, with the situation in Barcelona's backcourt extremely clear, with Joan Garcia the undisputed starter, Ter Stegen is looking for other options for the next six months, and luckily for him, Girona are reportedly interested in a loan deal for the goalkeeper until the end of the season.
Ter Stegen accepts the transfer to Girona only if his salary remains intact!
Moreover, according to the Spanish publication “Sport”, it seems that the German international would have given his consent for this move, but not at any price.
The quoted source stated that Ter Stegen will sign with the Montlivi group only if his current salary, which is between 18 and 20 million euros per season, remains intact, and this is the reason why the transfer was put on hold.
Given the fact that in the second part of this season he would earn in Barcelona between 9 and 10 million, his wish is that the said amount be fully covered, in the conditions that the two Catalan clubs would collaborate to remunerate the German.

Ter Stegen's request looked like it would be met, however, considering that the Blaugrana team would have contributed 80% of this amount and Girona would have had to cover the remaining 20%, which would have meant a maximum of 2.5 million.
In the end, however, even this price, which seems like an insignificant score for the big clubs in Europe, gives the bosses at Montlivi a lot of trouble, considering the fact that Girona would still have to pay another million euros to Barcelona for the actual loan of the player.
Livakovic's departure could facilitate Ter Stegen's move to Girona
Also, Spanish journalists made a comparison between the amount that the team prepared by Michel Sanchez should pay Ter Stegen and the current salary of Dominik Livakovic, another goalkeeper who came on loan to Girona (from Fenerbahce), and the difference is considerable, the Croatian earning around 300 thousand euros.
However, it seems that the goalkeeper who worked wonders in front of Zlatko Dalic's national team is on his way out. According to Fabrizio Romano, Fenerbahce and Dinamo Zagreb are in advanced talks for a permanent transfer, given that Livakovic has already expressed his desire to return to the team that launched him into “big football”.
So, this transfer could facilitate the move of Ter Stegen to the court of Girona, considering that they will get rid of the expense of the salary of the Croatian and, of course, with a little financial effort, they will be able to fulfill the German's wish.
