US President Donald Trump shared a post on his Truth Social social media platform on Sunday in which he suggested that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, born into a family of Cuban immigrants, should become the next leader of Cuba.

Trump reposted on Truth Social a message from a user named Cliff Smith, who on January 8 published his post saying: “Marco Rubio will become president of Cuba.” The American president wrote in a comment on Sunday: “Sounds great.”
Cliff Smith is an unknown figure in America, and he describes himself as a “conservative Californian.” His account has less than 500 followers.
Earlier on Sunday, Trump warned Cuban authorities that they would no longer receive money and oil from Venezuela as they had in recent years, and suggested they make a deal with him before it is too late.
“Cuba lived for many years on massive amounts of OIL and MONEY from Venezuela. In return, Cuba provided 'security services' to Venezuela's last two dictators, BUT NO LONGER! Most of these Cubans DIED in the US attack last week, and Venezuela no longer needs protection from the bandits and extortionists who have kept it in check for so many years,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
