In 2025, 416 companies were declared bankrupt, i.e. 5%. less than in 2024 – according to a report by the MGBI business intelligence agency. Most bankruptcy proceedings were registered in industries such as industrial processing, trade and construction.

According to the publication: “Bankruptcy and restructuring proceedings. Report 2026”, although the pace of bankruptcies announced by companies has slowed down over the past twelve months, the market situation remains difficult. In 2025, both the number of new restructuring proceedings and consumer bankruptcies increased.

According to the authors of the report, despite the decline in bankruptcies last year to 416, this is the second highest annual result in the last five years, so the scale of the phenomenon remains high.

The industries in which the most bankruptcies were announced in 2025 are: industrial processing (116), wholesale and retail trade (91) and construction (53).

The report also states that 5,000 companies started restructuring in 2025. 132 companies.

The authors point out that this is another year of an increase in the number of restructuring proceedings, which is part of the trend that has been ongoing for several years.. “It is noteworthy that for the first time the annual number of new restructurings exceeded 5,000. Year-on-year (compared to 2024), this means an increase of 14.7 percent?”

According to the report, in 2025 the most new restructurings were recorded in trade – there were 1,000 of them. 11. This means an increase compared to 2024 by 11.2%. In second place was construction (920 proceedings, an increase of 30.3%), and in third place – industrial processing (771, an increase of 18%). (PAP)
