Classes online or suspended Monday in schools in several counties due to weather

The courses will be held online or will be suspended on Monday, January 12, in several educational units in the country, due to the winter weather conditions, the Ministry of Education announced on Sunday.
According to the data sent by the county school inspectorates, until the reference time of 18.00, classes will take place in the online system in six educational units, with approximately 2,200 students and preschoolers. It is about one unit each from Argeș, Arad, Dolj, Gorj, Olt and Timiș counties.
Also, in three other educational units, with approximately 100 students, the didactic activity will be suspended. They are located in Argeș, Bistrita-Năsăud and Olt counties, and the hours will be recovered later, according to the Ministry of Education.
The representatives of the ministry state that the situation is dynamic and will be updated according to the evolution of weather conditions.
Romania, under snow, frost and blizzard warning
Romania is going through a genuine winter episode, with several warnings of severe weather issued by meteorologists. Until Tuesday, January 13, the weather will be particularly cold in all regions, locally frosty especially during the nights and mornings in Banat, Crisana, Maramureș, Transylvania, Moldova, as well as in the mountains and in the rest of the restricted areas.
According to the ANM, maximum temperatures in general will be between -11 and 0 degrees, with persistent frost during the day, isolated in the north and center, and minimum temperatures predicted between -15 and -6 degrees.
A yellow frost alert is in effect until Monday, January 12 at 10:00 a.m. In the mentioned interval in Banat, Crisana, Maramureș, Transylvania, Moldova and in the mountains the weather will become particularly cold, locally frosty especially during the nights and mornings. Maximum temperatures will be between -10 and -2 degrees, with persistent frost during the day, isolated in the north and center, and minimum temperatures will be between -15 and -6 degrees.
In-person classes were suspended on January 8 and 9 in more than 150 educational institutions in the country, due to unfavorable weather conditions.
