Nigeria prevailed against the team from Algeriascore 2-0, in the CAN quarter-finals and thus qualified for the penultimate act of the competition, where they will meet the host country, Morocco.

  • In the other semi-final, Senegal will play with the winner of Egypt and Coast of Ivory;

  • The grand final will take place on January 18, in Rabat, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.

After missing out on qualifying for this summer's World Cup, Nigeria wants to wash away the shame with a triumph at the Africa Cup of Nations, a tournament it has won three times in history (1980, 1994 and 2013).

Eric Chelle's team continues their perfect run from the current edition of the most important tournament on the African continent, after winning 2-0 against Algeria, the other team that had won the first four games in this competition.

Both goals of the Nigerians were scored in the second act. Victor Osimhen opened the scoreboard immediately after the break, precisely in the 47th minute, after which he played the role of servant to the success of Akor Adams, recorded ten minutes later.

Following this success, the “Super Eagles” qualified for the semi-finals of the competition, where they will face the Morocco of Achraf Hakimi and Brahim Diaz.
