Andrei Nicolescu, its president Dinamoposted an emotional message for Mircea Lucescu, the former Romanian national team coach, who is currently in a comakept alive with the help of machines, at the Intensive Care Unit of the University Hospital in Bucharest.
The official of the “dogs” recalled the support given by Mircea Lucescu in the moments when Dinamo went through difficult moments, culminating in the relegation to League 2. “Il Luce” performed for Dinamo between 1963-1977, and then he was the team's coach between 1985-1990.
Andrei Nicolescu, message for Mircea Lucescu: “The thought goes naturally to him”
“The lesson of dynamism. There are times in football, and indeed in life, when the temptation to be quick to judge becomes reflexive. Definitive things are said, verdicts are given, culprits are sought, often without the patience to understand the context in depth.
In those moments, you can actually see the character. In the complicated years that Dinamo went through, especially during the periods when the club was fighting for survival, we saw many hasty reactions and few real attempts to understand. Mircea Lucescu was one of the exceptions. He chose to come close, see with his own eyes, talk to the people in the club, ask questions and listen.
He did not seek public effect, nor did he get caught up in the logic of momentary reactions. He chose balance. In a context where it was easier to set yourself apart, he chose to be with the team and send a message of confidence.
To me, that means dynamism: not noise and not populism, but lucidity, decency and the willingness to understand before speaking. From my direct experience, I saw in him a measure, diplomacy and a sincere desire to help, things that have become rare in today's world.
Today, when he is in a critical moment, the thought naturally goes to him. And the lesson remains: sometimes the real strength lies not in what you say about others, but in the way you choose to be there for them when they are having a hard time“, was the message posted by Andrei Nicolescu, on his personal Instagram account.
