The president of the Buzău County Council, Marcel Ciolacu, former minister of Romania before Ilie Bolojan, once again mocks the current prime minister, although they are part of two parties that form the governing coalition. Ciolacu published a message on Facebook on Friday in which he refers to a post by the current prime minister regarding the 2025 budget.

In his Facebook message, Marcel Ciolacu attached a photo of a post made by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan in which the head of government presents the conclusions of the 2025 budget. The post is titled: “The biggest investments for development in the last 36 years”.

Ciolacu's post comes in the context where at the time the Parliament adopted the 2025 budget, he was prime minister. And then, the ruling coalition included PNL, the party led by Ilie Bolojan.

“Congratulations to the Bolojan Government for the way it built the 2025 budget! The focus on investments paid off (after multiple attempts to stop the started projects), the development programs continued to modernize Romania (good thing the idea of canceling Anghel Saligny was abandoned) the billions from the PNRR infused the economy (minus the 7 billion lost),” wrote Marcel Ciolacu.

“PS: We no longer count the entry into Schengen and the Moldavian Highway. Two other successes of the Bolojan Government. PS: It is January 9 and Romania still does not have a budget formula for 2026”, wrote the current president of the Buzău County Council.

Although Marcel Ciolacu criticizes the fact that it is January 9 and Romania “does not have a budget formula for 2026”, the budget for 2025, when Ciolacu was prime minister, was voted by Parliament only on February 5.

The Bolojan government entered 2026 without finalizing the national budget, but it could be ready at the beginning of February, according to the prime minister's statements.

On January 2, former prime minister Marcel Ciolacu published on his Instagram account a post with an ironic message about the situation in 2025, from the middle of which Ilie Bolojan became prime minister. Ciolacu's reaction then came after, in his New Year's message, llie Bolojan said that last year was a “difficult” one, due to the economic measures taken.
