“City services are working in emergency mode. The situation in the capital is very difficult, but controllable from the point of view of life support systems. Utilities workers together with power engineers are working to restore electricity, heat and water supply to the homes of Kiev residents after a massive enemy attack on the critical infrastructure of the capital. Let me remind you that almost half of the apartment buildings in Kyiv – almost 6 thousand – are now without heat supply due to damaged elements of critical infrastructure. We hope to supply parts of the houses It’s already warm this evening,” Klitschko said.
He noted that water supply has been restored in the Pechersk region and is gradually being restored on the left bank.
“There are also interruptions in the water supply in the city. Now it has been restored in the Pechersky district and is gradually being restored in areas of the left bank of the city. It takes some time for the water supply system to work as usual. And let me remind you that water is supplied to the upper floors of houses thanks to separate booster pumps, which cannot work in the absence of electricity. Therefore, on the top floors there may still be no water supply, even if the service has already been resumed in the area,” the mayor of Kyiv wrote.
Klitschko recalled heating points where people can warm up, get hot food and charge their gadgets.
“Let me also remind you that more than 1,200 heating points (indestructibility) have been prepared in Kyiv, where you can warm up, get hot drinks, food, charge phones, power banks and other gadgets. This fall there are more of them: almost 200 heating and charging points are now operating in the city’s shopping centers. I appeal to Kiev residents who have heat and water in their homes: help fellow citizens – invite us to warm up, prepare food or baby food. Only through mutual support, humanity, and helping each other will we survive!” – Klitschko emphasized.
