1057 birds were rescued in Anapa after a fuel oil spill. Including those from the Red Book – a pair each of crested cormorants and black-throated loons. 181 individuals, unfortunately, died.
840 people are involved in cleaning the birds. Volunteers taking off respirators became dizzy due to fuel oil fumes from the birds.
Recently, local authorities decided to bury bags of petroleum products in the sand. Previously, this was a temporary measure before a storm, so that what was collected would not be carried out to sea. However, the risks are too great because the fuel oil continues to leak through the fabric. Equipment from 26 cities has already been sent to help. These include 60 dump trucks and 19 loaders. Two thousand people from 39 municipalities continue to clean the beaches of Anapa.
