The number of wedding salons working in Russia in a year decreased by 12%. The total number of marriages is reduced, and the newlyweds seek to reduce the costs of celebrations and choose the purchase of festive outfits on marketplaces or in the segment of the mass house. To keep customers, wedding salons are trying to develop a service component.
On June 1, 2.7 thousand wedding salons worked in Russia, calculated in Yandex Cards. A year by the year, the indicator decreased by 12%. The trend was formed against the background of a fall in demand. According to the calculations of the “Chek of the Index” company “Platform of the OFD” (fiscal data operator), the number of purchases of wedding dresses and costumes in January -June decreased by 6% of the year by the year.
The most noticeable drop in the number of wedding salons among Russian millionaires Yandex Card Analysts noticed in Krasnodar: by 26%a year by the year, up to 35. In Moscow, a decrease amounted to 12%, to 169, in St. Petersburg-by 21%, to 89. The only millionaire city, where the number of wedding salons increased, became Rostov-on-Don. Growth year by the year amounted to 6%, up to 35.
Analysts “Index CHEC” pay attention to the fact that wedding salons are becoming less in the context of a general decrease in the number of marriages. In 2024, according to Rosstat, 44 thousand pairs got married in Russia – 7.2% less than a year earlier.
