“It is very important for Ukraine that the support of partners continues. There is constant defense assistance, strengthening of our air defense. Almost every day there is a threat to life in Ukraine due to Russian attacks, strikes with different types of weapons on our people,” Zelensky emphasized.
He said that during this week, the aggressor country of the Russian Federation fired more than 1,070 guided bombs, about a thousand attack drones and six missiles into Ukraine.
“Everything that was agreed upon with the partners needs to be intensified as much as possible. Each missile for air defense systems, which is now stored somewhere with the partners, can really protect lives,” Zelensky noted.
As the president pointed out, “stability and predictability of assistance for Ukraine is what can really push Moscow towards diplomacy.”
“We count on further defense assistance and support for the prepared documents on security guarantees from America, Europe and partners in the “coalition of the willing,” Zelensky concluded.
Context
The aggressor country of the Russian Federation almost every day fires at Ukraine with missiles, missiles and attack drones, including its critical infrastructure.
On December 28, 2025, Zelensky and US President Donald Trump held the meeting against the backdrop of negotiations between the United States and Ukraine teams on a “peace plan” for resolving the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Trump said after the talks that they discussed all issues of a potential agreement to resolve the war. According to him, the parties have reached “great detail”, but “one or two questions” remain. Zelensky clarified that in the 20-point “peace plan,” only the issues of control over territories and the work of the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant, temporarily occupied by the aggressor country of the Russian Federation, have not been resolved.
Negotiations on a peace plan are ongoing.
