
If you want to bring some real Christmas warmth to your home, make this simple puff pastry pie flavored with orange, lemon and cinnamon. It's ready in 25 minutes and doesn't require buttercream or baking, just roll out, fill and bake. And the smell that will spread throughout the house will make everyone remember childhood, the Christmas tree and the expectation of a miracle.
You will need:
puff pastry without yeast – 1 package
orange – 1 pc.
lemon – ½ pc.
brown sugar – 80 g
ground cinnamon – 1 tsp.
ground ginger – ½ tsp.
butter – 30 g
powdered sugar – for sprinkling
How to cook:
- Remove the dough from the refrigerator and defrost according to instructions.
- Grate the orange and lemon zest on a fine grater.
- Squeeze the juice from the orange, you will need 2 tbsp. l.
- In a bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, zest and orange juice. You should get a thick, aromatic paste.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle 3–4 mm thick.
- Spread the filling evenly over the entire surface, leaving 1 cm free at the edges.
- Cut the butter into thin slices and place on top.
- Carefully roll the dough into a log, pinch the edges and place seam side down on the parchment.
- Press down slightly to make the roll a little flat.
- Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C for 20–25 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
- Cool for 10 minutes, sprinkle with powdered sugar and cut into slices.
The pie turns out juicy inside, with a crispy crust, with a warm aroma of citrus and spices.
