The Bureau of the Regional Party Committee considered the issue of preparations for the 1941 All-Union Agricultural Exhibition. 64 applications from farms in the Birobidzhan, Stalinsky (now Oktyabrsky), Leninsky and Smidovichsky districts were discussed. The department of agriculture of the regional party committee and regional oblast was instructed to ensure that all selected exhibits were sent to the All-Russian Agricultural Exhibition by January 10, 1941.
In the newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” (12+) on January 3, 1937, in Lev Sterlin's article “Forest wealth of the region” it is said that the woodworking enterprises of the region exceeded the annual plan. “Undoubtedly, the fact of overfulfillment of the annual production program as a whole for the system of cooperative logging and woodworking industry is an indicator of the work done, both in the artels themselves and in the apparatus of the presidium of the Regional Forestry Chemical Union. The richest prospects that can and should be put into action, the most excellent raw materials and personnel devoted to our flourishing socialist homeland give confidence in the possibility of fulfilling all plans in 1937 and in subsequent years years. It is necessary to enrich the forestry union system with technical personnel and provide a scientific basis for all work.”

The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” on January 3, 1939, in the section “Across our region” wrote that a new club with 200 seats had been built and began operating at the Birobidzhan station. At the club there is a sound cinema, a library, a reading hut, a buffet and a hairdresser's “from January 10, a bathhouse with two branches will begin to operate at the station. From January 20, a railway department store will open.”
The same newspaper informs its readers that the furniture factory named after. Dimitrova, a screw unit was shipped from Moscow, which in turn eliminates frequent downtime in the furniture workshop.
The same section contains information that the Dynamo skating rink has opened, a beautiful Christmas tree is located in the center of the skating rink, and at the very end of the spruce alley there is a buffet and an insulated locker room “skates are also available for rental here. The first skaters took to the mirrored ice field.”

The newspaper informs residents of the city and region that the Birobidzhan City Health Service has received three M-1 passenger cars – “one of them is at the disposal of the city clinic and will be used to provide medical care at home. The other car is at the children's clinic to provide medical care to children.”

In the article “Excellent Hunters” it is written that the Birsk general store has launched an active procurement of furs not only among commercial hunters, but also among amateurs.

The materials of the State Archives of the Jewish Autonomous Region contain information that, on the basis of the order of the State Courier Service under the Government of the Russian Federation dated April 22, 1998 No. 198 The date of formation of the state courier service department in Birobidzhan is considered to be January 3, 1971. Since 1994, the department of the state courier service has been an independent structure (order of the Ministry of Communications of the Russian Federation of June 30, 1994 No. 179). The main task of the department is: organizing the prompt delivery of items of special importance, top secret and other official items of persons and public authorities, and ensuring its guaranteed safety; organization of interaction with special and courier-postal communication units; control over the work of department employees on courier routes, at airports (train stations), and on department premises.
