Ion Țiriac's grandson was a schoolmate of Emanuele Galeppini, a promising golfer who was only 16 years old. The fire in the Swiss mountain resort claimed 47 lives on January 1.
The inferno broke out after the ceiling of the bar “Le Constellation” caught fire, due to a firework lit by a waiter. There are 47 dead and another 115 people seriously injured following the tragedy that took place in the Alps.

“Rest in peace brother. I didn't get to know you as long as I would have liked but I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say I wish your family peace.
I hope your loved ones are blessed and I hope you rest in peace. It was an honor and a pleasure to go to the same school, wonderful man. Rest in peace, Manu.
I also wanted to say that this situation reminds us how fragile we are. In one second you see a person happily walking around the school, and then disaster strikes”, wrote Alexandru Țiriac on Instagram.
