January 3 9:38
In Kodinsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory, the driver of a crossover hit two seven-year-old girls at an unregulated pedestrian crossing. Both victims were hospitalized.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of January 2 on Leninsky Komsomol Avenue. Two children were about to cross the road at a zebra crossing. The car turning at that moment stopped at the pedestrian crossing to let the girls pass. Probably, the children, not seeing another vehicle behind it, began to cross. At that moment, the SsangYong crossover driven by a 36-year-old woman continued to move and hit the children.
Camera footage shows how one of the girls was thrown to the side, and the other fell directly under the wheels of a car. As a result, both children were taken to a medical facility with serious injuries.
Beware, violent footage!
The police are establishing all the circumstances of the incident. The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds drivers of the need to slow down before pedestrian crossings and stop if other vehicles have already given way to pedestrians.
