Indexation of pensions for working pensioners has resumed in Russia

Working pensioners whose pension did not increase in 2016-2024 will receive an increase after dismissal to account for missed indexations. Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs Yaroslav Nilov told TASS about this.
He recalled that the indexation of pensions for working pensioners, frozen in 2016, resumed in 2025.
“If a working pensioner received a pension that was not indexed until 2025, then if he quits, it will be further indexed,” said the deputy.
He also recalled that non-working pensioners are entitled to an additional payment up to the subsistence level if their pension is less than this level. “But if such a pensioner worked, then he did not have any additional payment. If he is fired, this additional payment will be renewed – up to the subsistence level,” the deputy said.
Nilov also said that on August 1, all working pensioners will have their pensions recalculated upward using the additional pension points they have earned. As the deputy noted, a working pensioner can be accrued no more than three pension points in just one year. “Which, in my opinion, is unfair. General rules allow a citizen to earn up to 10 insurance points during a working year,” he recalled.
