The ground shook on Friday morning in the Mexican state of Guerro. The epicenter of the earthquake occurred in Rancho Viejo, approximately 75 km from Acapulco.
Reuters reports that residents ran into the streets, but no serious injuries or damage were reported. However, the tremors also reached Mexico City, approximately 300 km from the epicenter.

A recording of the president's evacuation from the conference in the country's capital was circulated online. “Please stay calm,” Claudia Sheinbaum told the audience and appealed to leave the building without panic.
