“In the last 24 hours, ISU Bucharest-Ilfov managed 400 interventions, above the average of this period, of approximately 350. We acted to extinguish 38 fires and to provide qualified first aid in 318 cases, the other missions being in support of the community”, ISU B-IF representatives sent.
According to the cited source, SMURD firefighting and first aid crews were mobilized during the night at events with large audiences organized in the Capital, without any particular incidents being recorded.
Shortly after the transition to the year 2026, firefighters were requested to intervene in several fires that broke out in the balconies of homes on Murguța, Invingătorilor and Nucului streets, in sectors 3 and 6 of the Capital. A fire with casualties took place in an apartment on Buzoieni street, where six people received medical care following exposure to smoke, and two of them were transported to the hospital with burns.
Firefighters also intervened to extinguish a fire that broke out at the facade of a block on Olteniței Street, as well as a fire at a garage on Piatra Neamț Street.
In the context of falling temperatures, firefighters remind the population of the main measures to prevent fires in the cold season: not to overload the electrical networks by using several high-power consumers at the same time, not to place combustible materials near heat sources and not to use improvised or defective electrical devices, without complying with safety regulations.
