“A farce of suspicion, a trial, political reprisal.” Kudritsky made a statement after leaving the pre-trial detention center

According to the former head of Ukrenergo, the bail of 13.7 million UAH was paid for him by “numerous friends and partners,” since the family, as Kudrytsky indicated, “did not have that amount of money.”

“I will not reveal the pledgors without permission. If they want, they will say it themselves,” Kudritsky noted.

He said that he had returned to work “on building new power plants for the Ukrainian energy system.”

“I consider this whole farce with the suspicion of the SBI, detention in an isolation cell and trial in the Pechersk court to be a very poorly planned and crookedly executed political reprisal. Because in fact I am being tried for the fact that the management of Ukrenergo defended the interests of the state company and returned to it advances and penalties for the contractor’s failure to fulfill its obligations in 2018,” Kudrytsky emphasized.

In his opinion, the purpose of the case is “to show what happens to people who allow themselves to criticize the authorities.”

Context

The supervisory board of Ukrenergo dismissed Kudrytsky in September last year.

The media previously reported that at a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's headquarters on August 30, they decided that Kudrytsky should vacate the post of head of Ukrenergo, but he allegedly refused to write a letter of resignation of his own free will. The reason for the rate decision is unfinished protective structures around Ukrenergo substations, which led to interruptions in the supply of electricity after the massive Russian shelling on August 26, Forbes Ukraine noted.

In January 2025, the SBI completed the pre-trial investigation and sent to court a case regarding a Lviv businessman and several other persons suspected of supplying low-quality clothing to the Armed Forces of Ukraine worth more than UAH 1 billion. The defendants were arrested, and one of them was put on the international wanted list.

On October 21, SBI investigators conducted searches at Kudritsky’s place, Ukrayinska Pravda wrote. According to the publication, the searches were related to abuse of official position and the possible misappropriation of company funds, in particular during deforestation and contract work on laying energy mains. The next day, Kudritsky confirmed the searches, calling the situation “absurd.” The ex-official clarified that the search of his car was carried out without a court order due to “urgency,” and after being stopped by patrol police, an unknown person took his phone, which later ended up in the hands of the State Bureau of Investigation. Kudritsky emphasized that he was not guilty and claims that the investigators’ goal was to gain access to his telephone correspondence, which, according to him, contained only domestic and work issues, as well as criticism of political corruption and the energy management system.

On October 22, Kudrytsky told Radio Liberty reporters that after the search the first interrogation took place. According to him, the questions allegedly related to the events of 2025, when he no longer worked for the company, and his status in the case was that of a witness.

On October 28, the SBI detained Kudrytsky and informed the Lviv businessman of suspicion of fraudulent acquisition of more than 13 million UAH from a state-owned enterprise (the media wrote that we were talking about Igor Grinkevich). The next day, the court arrested the ex-head of Ukrenergo.

On October 30, Kudritsky was given bail, and in the evening he was released from the pre-trial detention center.
