To keep your Christmas cactus healthy after flowering, it is important to keep the plant away from radiators, fireplaces and drafts.
Avoid excessive watering, as too much moisture during the period when the plant is not developing can cause rotting of the roots – water the Decembrist after flowering only when the soil becomes noticeably dry.
After the end of flowering, the Christmas cactus does not need feeding – you can apply fertilizer in the spring, when the flower begins to form new stems.
The Christmas cactus grows best in a slightly cramped pot and does not need to be repotted too often. If such a need arises, this should be done after flowering has completed.
