Hacker is a word that has acquired a very pejorative meaning, and one can even risk saying that it is associated with illegal activities – to put it mildly. Is it right?

There are three categories of hackers: white hat, black hat, gray hat. Robert Grabowski, head of CERT Orange, has been working in cybersecurity for years and belongs to the first category. White hat hackers are often wards, people who help locate and patch vulnerabilities in a system. Black hats are those who use these vulnerabilities to encrypt or steal data, usually for ransom, generally for financial purposes. Gray hat neither help nor harm. They have no sense of missionary or thieving streak.

Robert Grabowski tells what the criminal cyber world looks like, who are the people who find their way there, how organized criminal groups operate, and how they track down and attack victims.

In “Puls Biznesu” I deal with the financial market, especially the banking sector, but I also write about the debt collection and leasing industry. I must admit that banks are closest to me. I look at the achievements of the receivables management industry with respect, but I only know this business from an observer's perspective. I have never, knock on wood, been a client of a debt collection company. It's easier for me to evaluate banks because I have an open account with all of them. I know what the website, call center and branch service look like and how they work.
