As Ansa Agency emphasizes, Putin previously exchanged greetings with the US President during a telephone conversation on December 28.

Pope Leo XIV and former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder also received Christmas and New Year's wishes from Russia.

The Russian leader traditionally sent greetings to the presidents and prime ministers of Belarus and the post-Soviet countries of Central Asia and the South Caucasus. He also expressed best wishes to the leaders of other countries, including those belonging to the BRICS, i.e. Brazil, India, China and South Africa, as well as the so-called the global South and East, including Burma, Mongolia, Vietnam, North Korea, Ethiopia and Venezuela.
